maggie jayne
maggie jayne is a small, sustainable-oriented clothing and textile brand founded in 2015 by its namesake Maggie MacCormick. The design studio is based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia and the clothing is thoughtfully produced in Jaipur, India.
They work with a manufacturer that is registered through World Fair Trade Federation, Fair Trade Federation US, and Craftmark (an initiative that helps denote Indian genuine craft).
Maggie works primarily with GOTS certified organic cotton that is hand block printed using AZO free, low impact dyes. The print unit is located in Sanganer, where block printing has been practiced for centuries. Water recycling and environmental dye contamination prevention is a part of the manufacturers ethos, having an effluent treatment plant on site.
Cotton dhurrie rugs are produced by a community of weavers outside of Jaipur on floor looms located within each artisan's home.
